I never had problems like this with July 30, at am Will the same install work on Windows Vista? Or there is different install for Vista? Please advise ASAP. Downloading bit on bit Win Xp should not be a problem.

The sync framework needed removal. This has dependences with VS so this now needs repair at some point. Unfortunately the removal did not work and the uninstall process kept hanging.

So complete removal seems virtually impossible. Reinstalling just the database pieces reproduced the exact error I had at the top of this thread. This I then removed. So at least I was back to square one. SQL R2 overwrites some of the shared components and the uninstall removal does not reinstate these components back to their previous sql state.

After some digging I noticed that the sqladhlp. I renamed the sqladhlp. I then installed a new sql instance - just the database pieces first.

This worked! The AD Helper Service was setup correctly although it did not leave a copy of sqladhlp. If yes, change the service account to local system and then try to repair your sql server installation or install it.

I changed the account to local system successfully and re - ran the install and added a new instance leaving the shared components unchanged as these seem to be working. Exactly the same issue occurred The new logs reads as the one above so I will just quote from that one :.

Leaving the shared components untouched and just removing the instance specific bits. Doing a find on the log for "adhlpr" the first occurence is from the immediately preceding action which is included below this time from one of the latest logs again same info each time :.

While trying the setup have you clicked on "use the same account for all Sql server service"? Another thought is to apply SP1 directly. It seems like there is an issue with , but cannot find more details as the link is broken.

I was using the same account a newly created user account for each retry that was also a member of home users for all services including the full text launcher leaving the sql server browser as the recommended network service. I'll try separate accounts and report results here. Not sure if this is cumulative but again XP isn't mentioned. There are 2 dependant features.
