The Knight's appearance is similar to that of the Black chess piece of the same name. Accordingly, it represents a knight. In gameplay, the player can collect the Knight during different Missions in certain areas. For then to obtain it, the player must use the ID points earned from completing the Mission where the Knight was picked up to identify it on the identification screen.

Excalibur Sonic can attack huge projectiles greatly with increased swordsmanship capabilities than Sonic but is vulnerable to small energy orbs.
